Elevator/Escalator Installation and Renovation Expertise
QSTI has become one of the leading Minority Companies providing Project Management and installation services for Elevators and Escalators. QSTI has the capabilities to provide all labor, material, equipment and supervision to refurbish personnel and freight elevators. QSTI provides all labor, material, equipment and supervision to remodel existing elevators that includes the following:
- Installation of a new Microprocessor hydraulic elevator control1er with Magnetic card reader software to interface with the existing customer security system.
- Installation of new elevators power unit, including control valve tank and pump motor. This includes all new piping from the power unit to the hydraulic jack assembly.
- Replace the existing hydraulic jack system with safety bulkheads and AIN liner protection.
- Update and remodel front and rear door operating system, including, new closed loop door operator, new door tracks, hangers and rollers, new #4 stainless steel doors, new hatch doors with hangers, rollers and interlocks.
- Provides new enamel finished steel hoist way doors, new door clutch, new door restrictor device, and new Panaforty infra red entrance detector screens.
- Replace existing travel cables, including complete rewiring the existing hatchway, pit and limit switches.
- All work complies with the handicapped provisions of the Elevator Code and Americans with Disabilities Acts.

We specializing in renovations of non-residential buildings and licensed to do business in Maryland (license no. 50403), Virginia (license no. 2705 026720A), and Washington, DC. We have past and present experience to perform in the following trades: demolition, landscaping, concrete (cast-in-place & pre-cast), masonry, structural steel, metals, rough & finish carpentry, thermal & moisture protection, doors & windows, gypsum board, tile flooring, acoustical ceilings, painting, ADA specialties, and small mechanical.
QSTI/Nichols Contracting, Inc. owns and occupies a 3600 sq. ft. office/warehouse facility located on a two acre lot. Nichols Contracting owns the construction equipment, machinery & tools necessary to handle any job up to $5,000,000. in scope.
